Southern Eclectic

As an Alabama native, I value my Southern roots…the warmth in smiles of neighbors, the tart and crunch in good fried green tomatoes, hot summer afternoons relaxed away on a porch. Growing up in the city of Birmingham, I have experienced a mixture of city and country, seen views of skyscrapers and cotton fields, and come to understand the horrors and the goodness mixed in our history.  In this series, I seek to remind Southerners of our heritage–the nastiness and the beauty in stories from the cotton fields; to share snapshots of the South with all who care to look–the farms, the flowers, the memories; and to expose emotions, good and bad, of past and present, whether we be Southern or not.

These pieces are created in high quality soft and oil pastels on archival papers and boards, and are guaranteed to bring satisfaction for generations.
