When it comes to art, boundaries are for the birds.
I like to paint what I want, with the medium and material I want, anytime and anywhere. I love experimenting and finding interesting combinations, like watercolor on canvas and pastel on very rough pastel card. From polished pastels, textured watercolors, to ink and marker doodles, colored pencil studies, and sketches in graphite, I enjoy capturing the beautiful world around me.
I keep my eyes open and find the most magical subjects in unexpected places. I collect objects and pictures from around the American Southeast: cotton bolls, water towers, barns, cows, fields…the everyday images I pass by on the road, or find on a walk. I am entranced by the beautiful blue skies, the green fields, the magnificent insects, and all the colors of the South.
